I am looking for four or five people that are concerned with integrity of History in a Google search and have the ability and knowledge to update Wikipedia to correct the many errors now online regarding the founder of Earth Day, whose idea of the Earth flag was and update with integrity and quotes Wikipedia and various sources that are feeding into a Google search.

I know my father, who went to be with Jesus in 2012, is not worried about his name, and I really truly am not worried about who gets the glory for starting Earth Day, but up until about a year and a half ago there was truth on the internet regarding Earth Day.

Somehow that truth has been erased. That is deeply concerning to me that we can just erase history. There needs to be dedicated historians concerned with historical truth overseeing the many contexts of supposed truth on Wikipedia and other places.

Anyone interested in his biography I will send the paper back in the mail to you for just $10 plus the cost of shipping which I believe is around $8. I have about 30 copies I can do at this rate that are in my possession. You can also Google “Peace, Justice and the Care of Earth” edited by Robert Weir online and I believe the Kindle version is quite inexpensive.

But if you wish a hard copy I’m happy to share some of the treasure that I have.

My father shared his idea of the name Earth Day with Gaylord Nelson. I have heard both my mother and father tell the story of the beginning of Earth Day hundreds of times in my youth and younger years, not just to me but to many others. The story never changed. Beyond that in my entire life I never knew either of my parents to lie. I will vouch for their integrity. They were not perfect, but they treasured truth and integrity.

The two separated and took two different directions. Shortly afterwards my father and his team found out that Gaylord Nelson had taken the use of the name he had suggested for his own environmental teachings in April. People wanted my dad to sue Mr Nelson but that was not my father’s belief system and he refused.

It is possible Mr. Nelson totally forgot that my father had suggested the name to him, I do not know if it was intentional or not and we weren’t worried about it. The movement in America prospered. My father was against the violent protests at the time that were accompanying the environmental movement of Mr Nelson. My father was a pacifist. And so there was a division between the two, but we felt that each one made progress. My father with the global Earth day that was celebrated at the moment of the Spring Equinox the time when time is equal all over the world, celebrated at the United Nations every year.

And Gaylord Nelson with the more local American Earth Day for years time pushed for the care of Earth, which when it is in balance with peace, integrity and justice is a good thing.

My father also designed the Earth flag of which I still have a few Originals, using the original photo from Space of the Earth.

For the first time about a year and a half ago when I Googled Earth Day in March around the time of the global Earth Day which was celebrated at the moment of the Spring Equinox at the United Nations every year with the ringing of the peace Bell for many years. I participated in every single one for many years with my father. I promise you this did happen. When did deception and lies and erasing of History become perfectly okay? And why do we think if we permit it that it’s not going to come back to bite us? This is not wisdom. There needs to be some form of Integrity online. People need to be concerned with truth in the midst of information overload. For many years when I would Google just out of curiosity who started Earth Day, my father John McConnell’s name would come up as well as Gaylord Nelson. Now when you question who started Earth Day, all that comes up is Gaylord Nelson. This is beyond creepy. Now somebody else is taking credit for the original Earth flag, and I’m not worried about who gets the credit that part doesn’t matter, I’m worried that we are living in a culture of Lies. And that Labyrinth is a path you do not want to go down. People, if we plant thistle seeds, if we encourage thistle seeds to grow in our garden, I promise you it’s not going to come up fruit and vegetables. Truth matters. In every aspect of life it is so important. A culture that throws aside integrity and Truth throws away life.
